Overview
Subdue is designed to help people track subscriptions, trial deadlines, upcoming charges, and cancellation decisions with as little complexity as possible. This page describes the current product behavior in plain language. Effective date: March 2026
What the app stores locally
Subscriptions, trial details, notes, and price history are stored on your device by default. Local-first storage is part of the product’s reliability model.
What syncs through iCloud
Sync and restore are optional. When you use iCloud, Subdue uses your Apple account and CloudKit to sync standard subscription data across your devices. iCloud sync and restore are free features.
Notifications
Notifications are optional. They are scheduled only after you allow them in iPhone settings. Trial reminders stay free. Renewal reminders and cancellation reminders require Premium.
Premium features
Premium is currently described as a one-time unlock that adds extended insights, the Private Services Vault, price change history, unsubscription history, the Impact Simulator, renewal reminders, and cancellation reminders.
Anonymous aggregated analytics
Standard services may contribute anonymous aggregated analytics to help measure service trends. Preset services keep their preset identifier. Custom services are grouped into a generic bucket. Private services are excluded.
Private services
Private services are Premium and device-only. They require Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode to unlock. They are not part of iCloud sync, shared restore, or shared analytics flows.
Your controls and expectations
You control whether notifications are allowed and whether iCloud sync is used. If you keep standard services in sync, they can restore across your devices. If you place sensitive services in the Private Services Vault, they stay on this device only.
